A Women's Retreat in Bologna, Italy
April 3–10, 2027

I am hosting a small, intimate sketchbook retreat in Bologna, Italy — and I would love for you to be part of it.

This retreat is for women who make art, or who have always wanted to. It doesn't matter where you are in your practice — whether you've kept a sketchbook for years or have never drawn outside of a class. What matters is that you're curious, and that you want to spend a week in Italy doing what you love alongside other women who feel the same way.

Bologna is a city I know well and return to every year. It is warm, beautiful, walkable, and full of life to draw — porticoes that go on for miles, open-air markets, medieval towers, extraordinary food, and light that changes everything. We will sketch all of it. We will also attend the Bologna Children's Book Fair together for two days — one of the most inspiring gatherings of illustrators and picture book artists in the world.

The group will be just six women. Small enough that everyone gets real attention, real conversation, and real time to find her own way into the work. I've been teaching for over a decade and I know what happens when women make art together in a beautiful place — something opens up. That's what this week is for.
